Airservices Australia, Aireon Sign MOA To Improve Airspace Safety

Airservices Australia, Australia's Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) and Aireon LLC have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) under which Airservices will assess the concept of Aireon's space-based Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) solution.

Agreement Includes Long-Term, Comprehensive Support Package

Yorkshire Air Ambulances (YAA) has signed an agreement for a new H145 from Airbus Helicopters in the UK. The aircraft is a step up in capability, offering YAA an increased range, payload and cabin space with which to provide critical care service across all Yorkshire.  The agreement also includes the provision of a long-term comprehensive support package.

Northrop Grumman Corporation has completed the center fuselage for the first F-35 Lightning II aircraft to be assembled in Japan's F-35 Final Assembly and Checkout (FACO) facility in Nagoya, Japan. The center fuselage, designated AX-5, will be integrated into an F-35A conventional takeoff and landing variant.

Navigation Reference System (NRS) The NRS is a system of waypoints developed for use within the United States for flight planning and navigation without reference to ground based navigational aids. The NRS waypoints are located in a grid pattern along defined latitude and longitude lines. The initial use of the NRS will be in the high altitude environment in conjunction with the High Altitude Redesign initiative. The NRS waypoints are intended for use by aircraft capable of point−to−point navigation.
