Tucson International Airport Updates Master Plan

Document Looks 20 Years Into The Future To Provide A Strategic Roadmap

The Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) Board of Directors approved an update to the Tucson International Airport (TIA) Master Plan April 2. The Master Plan looks out 20 years into the future and provides a strategic roadmap for the physical development of the airport. The plan is typically updated every five to seven years. The last TIA Master Plan was completed in 2004.

CAE Awarded Civilian, Military Contracts Totaling Over $200 Million

Company Has Sold 35 Full-Flight Simulators In Fiscal Year 2013

CAE said Tuesday that it has sold five full-flight simulators (FFSs) as well as a series of training devices, long-term service agreements and update services to airlines and original equipment manufacturers in Asia, Australasia, North America and Europe. The contracts are worth a total of approximately $84 million at list prices and bring the total number of FFS sales that CAE announced in fiscal year 2013 to 35. The company has also finalized several military agreements that add up to about $128 million.

NASA's Swift Sizes Up Comet ISON

May Be 'One Of The Most Dazzling In Decades' When It Rounds The Sun

Astronomers from the University of Maryland at College Park (UMCP) and Lowell Observatory have used NASA's Swift satellite to check out comet C/2012 S1 (ISON), which may become one of the most dazzling in decades when it rounds the sun later this year. Using images acquired over the last two months from Swift's Ultraviolet/Optical Telescope (UVOT), the team has made initial estimates of the comet's water and dust production and used them to infer the size of its icy nucleus.
