Manufacturing Changes, Better Insulation, New Enclosure Key To Preventing Cell Overheating

A comprehensive set of improvements that will add several layers of additional safety features to the lithium-ion batteries on 787 commercial jetliners are in production and could be ready for initial installation within the next few weeks, Boeing said in a webcast late Thursday. The event was timed to be live at 10:00 am local time Friday in Japan.

Boeing looks forward to working with SWISS to finalize the details, at which time the order will be posted to the Boeing Orders & Deliveries website.

Bolen Says That Closing Towers Puts The Safety Of The Traveling Public At Risk

The NBAA supports an amendment from Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS), which would halt the FAA’s plan to close a host of air traffic control towers and other facilities. F-35 Production On Track, Program Chief Says

Lt. Gen. Christopher C. Bogdan Admits The Program Has Had A Rocky Road

The F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter program is a different program than it was four years ago, the F-35 program executive officer said March 12 in a speech at the McAleese/Credit Suisse Defense Programs Conference at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. Lt. Gen. Christopher C. Bogdan told attendees that he and his predecessor, Navy Vice Adm. Dave Venlet, worked with Lockheed-Martin and Pratt & Whitney to reform the problem-plagued development program.
