Source: Robert Dean, owner of Dean International Flight School based at Kendall/Tamiami Executive Airport near Miami, FL. The FAA recently took the unusual -- and disturbing -- step of issuing a Notice to Airmen for pilots flying into the airport, after bullet holes were found in the fuselages of two aircraft based at the busy general aviation field. To avoid the chances of being hit by gunfire, pilots are advised to make steep approaches into the airport, and to make haste when climbing out on takeoff.
