ANN Names The 'Heartbreakers' of 2007: #3--Former FAA Boss Marion Blakey

From the Heartbreaker's List #3: Former FAA Boss Marion Blakey

Let's face it... Marion Blakey broke our hearts in 2007. The Administrator of the FAA not only seemed to forget the importance of general and business aviation, she suddenly seemed to redefine the role of the FAA to stand as the Federal Airline Administration. The decisions and rhetoric coming out of the FAA HQ building last year sounded as if it was written for, or by, the airline lobby and a number of pundits rudely but justifiably wondered out loud if, in fact, that was just what was happening.

Aero-TV Update: Talking Sport Aviation EFIS Systems With Dynon Avionics

Popular Sport Aviation EFIS Builder Continues To Push The Envelope

Check out a seeming majority of the current crop of LSAs and your likely to see one of Dynon Avionic's uniquely compact experimental EFIS systems aboard. Check out a number of experimental aircraft also, and you're still likely to see a Dynon in the panels. Dynon Avionics entered the turbulent sport aviation marketplace with the announcement of their EFIS-D10 barely eight years ago. This compact offering packed a lot of EFIS capability into a standard 3-1/8" panel hole, making it an easy choice for pilots looking for lots of info without sacrificing an equivalent amount of panel space.

ANN Names The 'Heartbreakers' of 2007: #4--A Tough Year For Airshows

From the Heartbreaker's List #5: A Tough Year For Airshows

Dear Lord... what an unfortunate year for the airshow industry -- though to be honest, we're not exactly sure why it flew along on such a low note. The airshow industry experienced a far larger than normal number of accidents in 2007 -- of all manner of types and causes. We lost aerobats, military jet team members, warbird drivers, you name it... and in every case, of course, a great tragedy occurred. We lost valued members of an elite aspect of aviation who make all aviators look good to the groundhogs of the world and serve the very best interests of the aviation world every time they take flight.
