Largest Fleet Order So Far For Newest SR22 Variant
PlaneSmart Aviation told ANN Thursday of its signing of a
multi-million dollar deal to replace the fractional's current fleet
of Cirrus SR22-G2s with all new Cirrus SR22-G3s. The agreement is
the largest fleet purchase of this type, since the new G3s were
introduced in April of this year.

Dassault Falcon tells ANN the first Falcon 7X entered service

Runway Relocation, New Hangars To Support Corporate

Commissioners for Carroll County, MD approved a plan Tuesday to
extend and relocate the main runway at Carroll County Regional
Airport/Jack B. Poage Field in Westminster.
The Federal Aviation Administration recently performed its
annual re-certification and safety inspection of the Gogebic-Iron
County Airport (IWD) in Ironwood, MI. The airport received a rather
long list of honey-dos that has to be completed by December 31.
Union Demands Extra Security; Airline Says Shorter Work Hours

Fearing a repeat incident with aggressive passengers, airline
workers went on strike for a second day on Tuesday stranding about
20,000 travelers at Buenos Aires' Jorge Newbery Airport.
The submerged wreckage of a rented Diamond Star DA-40 that went
down in Arizona's Lake Pleasant last month has been located. Using
a special underwater camera, searchers located the wreckage Tuesday
in more than 120 feet of water, according to the Arizona
Republic.
Paramount Airlines has operated safely in Sierra Leone for more
than five years -- but the government of the West African
country is determined to prosecute the carrier following a
helicopter crash earlier this month, killing a 20-member Togolese
sports delegation and the two Russian pilots.
Add yet another high-flying organization opposed to general
aviation pilots being burdened by user fees. The Balloon Federation
of America announced Wednesday it has joined The Alliance for
Aviation Across America, and its fight against proposed user fees
in the FAA's reauthorization plan.
The 22nd Annual Sentimental Journey to Cub Haven Fly-In will take
place June 20-23, 2007 at the historic William T. Piper Memorial
Airport in Lock Haven, PA. This year's theme is "70 years of
Piper". Featured aircraft are the L-4 and PA-24 Comanche.

IEDs going off. It's kind of an insurance policy."

Navy's most experienced EA-6B Prowler pilots. The Vietnam-era
aircraft's primary function until now has been to escort US attack
jets while jamming the enemy radios, hostile radars and air defense
batteries aimed at them... but it has recently been redefined to
take on a new mission: jamming ground signals from devices such as
mobile phones and garage door openers that act as detonators for
improvised explosive devices (IED).
