Source: Peruvian Air Force Commander William Rodriguez, in charge of security at the site of Tuesday's 737-200 crash in Peru, quoted by the Associated Press. He spoke as hundreds of locals sifted through the wreckage, looking for anything they could carry away. In spite of the thousands of items carted off by the scavangers, Rodriquez said he didn't think the scavengers would pose a problem to the investigation. Perhaps, he suggested, they might even help.
