ANN Announces First Major Phase Of ANN 10.0: Aero-TV!

What's The Next Big Step In Aviation Media? Aero-TV!

Online communications are already affecting everything we do and learn in today's society. The old models of Network TV entertainment and news, as well as more recent cable TV models, are RIGHT NOW being replaced by online/broadband alternatives, networks, aggregators and systems. Whatever you want, whenever you want it… it will be accessible 24/7/365 on everything from the PDA phone that hangs from your belt, to your home TV (even HDTV) system. It's a brave new world and we believe that NO one is as well-equipped to present the aviation side of the equation as is Aero-News... the Aerospace World's DAILY Real-Time News Service for the last tumultuous decade.

What this means to us, after close consultation with some of the true experts in news and online information venues, is that it is time for us to take the most aggressive steps we've ever undertaken. What it means to YOU, is that there is a solution, RIGHT NOW, to what you, your company, and your products do to not only keep up with the current media revolution but take part in the LEADING EDGE of the changes and new capabilities to come.

Viva La Revolution!

Just about a decade ago the many feverish minds that dreamed up ANN, did so by deciding that something unique and innovative had to be done in terms of bringing news and information to the aviation and aerospace world. Our intent was to TOTALLY revamp the information and news process that aviation had utilized for FAR too long. In an elder iteration, the predecessor of Aero-News Network brought news and features to a worldwide audience through conventional magazines and print publishing - but we  changed all that -- thereby arresting an age-old cycle of killing new trees with old news. The first to take early advantage of the World Wide Web, with specialized aero-content (including special DAILY reports from Oshkosh MANY years ago), it was obvious that an information revolution was underway.

And it ain't over yet... NOT by a long shot.

Aero-News is about to change everything -- yet again.

Not content with the leadership position whe've earned in the aviation news business, ANN has never hesitated in providing new and innovative services to hundreds of thousands of aviators and aviation professionals around the globe. Aero-News was the first aviation news service to bring DAILY news to the Web, the first to bring real-time aviation news to the Web, the first to conduct aggressive and comprehensive outreach programs with general media so that aviation interests could reported expertly, we were the first to bring DAILY audio programming to the Web, often the first (of ANY media entity) to bring clarity to the triumphs and tragedies of the aviation and aerospace world (be it our highly visible positions in covering the XPrize program, 9/11, Zero-G, the first flights of a number of pivotal aircraft/programs, or a number of noteworthy aircraft accidents and investigations), and so much more. At no time has Aero-News allowed our services and capabilities to stagnate, adding features and capabilities at a breathtaking pace that thrilled our audience, but gave our staff many, many, many sleepless nights.

The reason for all this?

It's not what you might think... It's not for competitive reasons (besides NO ONE has been doing what we have for the last decade, anyway). It's not for the ego boost. It's not just because we can't leave well enough alone. It's because we cover one of the most technically demanding and complex businesses in the world, and it demands the very best that we can provide every second of every day. And we love it. And THAT's why we won't leave well enough alone.

Big Plans For Oshkosh... A Sneak-Peak At ANN 10.0 -- and Aero-TV!

Aero-News is pleased to announce that we will be providing a preview of ANN 10.0, and Aero-TV, via our DAILY multimedia/online video, online audio, and online news webcasting LIVE from the grounds of Oshkosh 2007. From those hallowed grounds, ANN will be providing DAILY news and DAILY feature reports that can be read, listened to, and viewed -- directly or via multiple category downloads -- using the very latest technologies and outlets.

It's going to be an amazing week... Aero-News will be fielding a number of expert video teams, each of which comprises an expert aerospace journalist and an expert video journalist, to make sure that all the news, features, personalities, programs, and products to be seen at the worlds greatest aviation event, are seen by the rest of world -- in fact, bringing the world of Oshkosh to the rest of the world.

Just think of the possibilities… not only in terms of reaching the MILLIONS who can not go to Oshkosh each year and still want to know EVERYTHIING that transpired… but also those many thousands that DID go and do not have the media access and expertise that Aero-News brings to the mix. Aero-News will be at EVERY major media event, every major press conference, every news-worthy unveiling/speech/discussion or happening. ANN will be there where so many can not… and will make sure that all that is interesting, newsworthy and notable is seen by the Aero-World.

ANN will still do everything it has always done... but now it's going to do so much more, and do it in as complete and as comprehensive a manner as any dedicated news network in existence.

But Wait... That's Just The Tip Of The Iceberg

No kidding... that's just the beginning. Shortly after the end of Oshkosh 2007, ANN will drop the "big one." Not content to shake up our coverage of special events like the mighty Oshkosh, ANN will broaden its DAILY Real-Time programming, the most aggressive suite of aviation news services in the business, to add DAILY AERO-VIDEO news reports and DAILY features every business day starting this fall.

ANN will start deploying our Aero-TV teams across North America (and eventually, around the world) to supply a DAILY News report, and at least one DAILY Aero-Feature (with more aggressive scheduling and programming to come), Monday through Friday, with additional special coverage to be offered in concert with breaking news and the many pivotal special events which this industry finds so fascinating. The AERO-TV teams will rotate with each other to seek out news and feature material, as well as to serve the aerospace industry in a number of other venues, including the compiling of HD quality B-Roll and stock footage, assistance with Video Press Releases, specialized long-form documentaries, custom corporate video programming, contracted network/syndicated news programming, and so forth.

So… EVERY business day, you will come to expect an Aero-TV news report AND an Aero-TV Feature report, rain or shine, hell or high water, like we've ALWAYS done… And even more when it comes to Special Event coverage.

Also… please understand the following: this is not the style and mode of video that you may be used to -- if you haven't been watching web video up to this point.

This is NEW- MEDIA geared to the needs and desires of TODAY's viewer… we're not just producing what we think to be important; we're producing it to be viewed, distributed and used by today's viewers in today's world… expertly, professionally and uniquely suited to the interests of the aviation and aerospace community.

Aero-TV programming will be available, primarily in the virtually ubiquitous Adobe Flash format (which nearly 99% of the world's web browsers can view/read), as well as QuickTime (for iPod/iTunes distribution) and the forthcoming Microsoft Silverlight standard (for Zune and other media outlets). All programming will be shot and edited, first, in the highest quality HD video standards and then converted to meet the needs of a number of distribution outlets... so that a world-wide audience can eventually enjoy Aero-TV on everything from the tiniest video iPod, to the latest 60+ inch HDTV sets. Programming will also be available on DVD for those who wish to obtain and archive our coverage in the highest possible quality.

The only constant in the New-Media revolution is change… and it comes at a pace that even a Rocket Racer would have a tough time keeping up with. ANN is all too aware of this aspect of the business plan… so we're building an aggressively agile news and programming staff that can not only keep up with the time but maintain a LEADERSHIP position for years to come. ANN has been a world leader in DAILY, Real-Time Aviation and Aerospace news for the better part of a decade… and Aero-TV will do the same. As the NewMedia world evolves -- so will Aero-TV… and so can you.

One of NASA's brightest thinkers called ANN "a disruptive technology" last year at the 2006 FlightSchool 2.0 Conference and just recently, Cessna CEO Jack Pelton, upon being briefed on ANN 10.0 and Aero-TV, called our strategy "a game changer."

Indeed... that's a really good description for what we had in mind. Thanks, Jack.

That's a perfect description for what we have in mind, and it's a strategy that can help communicate the true import, excitement and value of aviation and aerospace to a larger audience than any other Aero-Media outlet has even done before.

Period.

NOTE: And by the way, the description above describes ONLY Aero-TV Phase One... wait til you see what we have in mind for Aero-TV Phase Two! And more important, Aero-TV is only a part of the whole ANN 10.0 program... there's MUCH more to come.

We've already hired or committed a dozen new positions for Aero-TV... if you have any expertise in HD video journalism, or the support positions associated with same, make sure you let us know of your skills if you have any interest in working with Aero-TV... we're keeping a sharp eye out for the very best people to join and staff Aero-TV.
