Golden West Regional Fly-in To Feature 'Superbatics'

Reno Sport Class Racers Will Also Hold Demonstrations

Organizers of the upcoming Golden West Regional Fly-in and Airshow in Marysville, CA announced Wednesday airshow pilot Eddie Andreini will bring his "Superbatics" aerial performance to all three days of the show. A group of pilots from Reno Sport Class Air Racing will also put on high speed demonstrations during the show.

Eddie Andreini's Stearman Superbatics is a fast-paced, 15-minute show that starts with an immediate double roll just after takeoff. Andreini also performs his  WOPCEVOK -- described as "a heart-stopping end-over-end tumble maneuver."

Approximately a dozen members of Reno Sport Class air racing will put their airplanes through their 300+ MPH paces, providing a close-up look at this dramatic sport. Between flight demonstrations, the airplanes will be available on the ground for closeup inspection. The pilots will also speak at lunch on Saturday, an event titled "Fast Food." Sport Class Air Racing was founded 10 years ago, as a way to make air racing accessible to recreational pilots. Many of the members have built their own Lancairs, Ventures, Glasairs and NXTs.

"Eddie is a favorite of Golden West crowds and we are happy to have him back this year. The Sport Class Reno Racers are a terrific group. They are friendly fellows that not only like to show off their airplanes in the air but on the ground in the pits," said Golden West president John Gibson.

In addition to the airshow each day, The Golden West Regional Fly-in will feature forums and workshops, as well as exhibits by manufacturers of the latest aircraft, avionics and pilot supplies.

The show will be held at Yuba County Airport (MYV) from June 6-8.
