Seminar To Spotlight Release 6.0 Upgrade
Avidyne Corporation and
AirShares Elite announced Friday the two companies are planning a
free hands-on seminar to introduce pilots to new situational
awareness tools and features on the Avidyne Entegra integrated
flight deck. The "Evening of Learning" will be held February 9 at
6:30 pm in the Jet Aviation hangar at Hanscom Airport (BED), in
Bedford, MA.
Ideal for pilots considering the transition from analog gauges
to "glass cockpit" operations, as well as experienced Entegra
flyers, the course will allow attendees the opportunity to view
first-hand the features of Entegra applications in the Cirrus SR22
and SR20.
The companies will also spotlight the new Release 6.0
capabilities of the Entegra integrated flight deck, through static
aircraft and interactive displays.
"The seminar will be a great introduction for pilots considering
a move to an ‘all-glass’ cockpit," said Brad Rosse,
Regional Director for AirShares Elite. "It’ll also be a great
opportunity for pilots experienced with Entegra to maximize the
utility of the great new features found in the Entegra Release
6.0."
The Avidyne Release 6.0 upgrade -- which AirShares Elite is
implementing across their entire fleet of Cirrus aircraft --
enables Entegra to display the latest in XM WX products including
winds aloft, freezing level, TAFs, and cloud tops. Other new
features include display of V speeds (Vx, Vy, etc.) and low-speed
warnings on the airspeed tape display.
Functionality improvements include USB "thumb drive"
compatibility to simplify the data updating process.
"With the adoption of Release 6.0, AirShares Elite’s
owner-pilots will fly the most advanced and easiest-to-use version
of Entegra available," said Mark Sandeen, Avidyne’s Vice
President of Sales and Marketing.
