New SJ30 Twinjet Aircraft Rapidly Approaching FAA TC

Two Additional TIA's Issued by FAA as Sino Swearingen Prepares for FAA Certification

The FAA recently issued two additional Type Inspection Authorizations (TIA's) for the new SJ30-2 executive business jet, currently approaching final certification this year.

The first of the two additional TIA's for this new high speed, long range, SJ30-2 twinjet addresses FAA certification flight tests to be performed on anti-ice, de-ice and bleed air system.

The SJ30-2 will be certified for flight in natural icing conditions using Anti-ice and De-ice Systems as follows: Hot bleed air from the engines are routed through the Wings Leading Edges as well as thru the Engine nacelle Inlets, the Horizontal Tail Leading Edges are De-iced with a pulsating pneumatic system. Both windshields, pitot/static, angle of attack, and the total air temperature systems are electrically heated providing complete anti- icing and de-icing for this sleek new high performance corporate jet.

The second TIA issued covers FAA certification flight tests to be performed on the SJ30-2's environmental system to operate in extreme cold and hot weather conditions. These major flight test milestones and the issuing of the TIA's provides for the FAA to now come on board the SJ30-2 aircraft and conduct final certification flights that verify previous company test results.

The SJ30-2 certification flight test program has three conformed flight test aircraft in operation flying day and night missions virtually every day. One aircraft is utilized for the flight testing systems development and certification. The second aircraft is utilized for performance and aerodynamic certifications. The third and final flight test aircraft is the autopilot, avionics, function and reliability development and certification test aircraft. The FAA has been aboard two of the flight test aircraft and conducted numerous certification flight tests on the aircraft for final certification.

During a presentation meeting for TIA's, were Alfred Baumbusch, SSAC Senior Vice President, Operations receiving the first of the two TIA's, Werner Koch, Systems and Equipment Engineer at the Ft. Worth ASW 150 FAA Aircraft Certification Office, Michele M. Owsley, Manager of FAA ASW 150; Rick C. Simmons, FAA Flight Test Pilot; Ed Swearingen, Founder, Director and Senior Advisor of Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation and Carl Chen, CEO and President of SSAC receiving the Second TIA. Dr. Carl Chen, CEO, and President of Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corp said today, "This is excellent news and the entire company is excited as this milestone emphasizes our accelerated efforts to FAA certify the new SJ30-2 by the second half of this year. The accomplishments and extra team efforts provided by the employees at SSAC and the FAA are significant in obtaining the certification on time and are greatly appreciated by our customers and the entire management team at SSAC."

Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation is certifying the new SJ30-2 in San Antonio TX with 500 employees in four facilities totaling over 220,000 sq ft in the USA Coast To Coast. The Company continues the acceleration of FAA certification -- projected to be final in the second half of this year 2005.
