Spectrum Selects Avidyne's Next-Gen Entegra For Spectrum 33

Avidyne tells ANN that Spectrum Aeronautical, LLC, has selected Avidyne's Entegra next-generation integrated avionics system now in development for the Spectrum 33 business jet. The Spectrum 33 uses a highly advanced graphite-epoxy construction process that gives it the same size cabin as popular eight to nine seat entry-level business jets, at less than two-thirds the weight. It is designed to cruise at FL450 at speeds up to 415 knots (Mach 0.72) and fly as far as 2000 nm while using about half the fuel of comparably sized current production aircraft.

Additional information on the next-generation Entegra integrated avionics system in the Spectrum 33 is expected to be released in the first half of 2007.

"As a fellow innovator in aviation, Avidyne is a great partner in the development of the Spectrum 33," said Linden Blue, chairman and founder of Spectrum Aeronautical. "With outstanding ease-of-use Avidyne's next-generation integrated flight display system will advance the state-of-the-art for light business jet avionics. Avidyne's capabilities are a wonderful complement to the Spectrum 33's advanced airframe and together they will make the Spectrum 33 a market leader."

"We are working closely with the entire Spectrum team as we develop the next-generation Entegra avionics system that will integrate most aircraft functions and present a pilot-friendly interface that reduces cockpit complexity and improves crew coordination," said Mark Sandeen, Avidyne vice president of sales and marketing.

"The Spectrum 33 will be an outstanding business jet."

"Spectrum proves once again that innovators choose Avidyne," said Avidyne President Dan Schwinn. "We have a shared vision for making flying safer, more productive and more cost-effective. The new avionics system will combine the practical benefits of today's business jet flight decks with advanced integration. The new system also will mark our continuing expansion into the business aviation market."
