Cirrus Announces New Standard Maintenance Program

Covers ALL Maintenance For 24 Months/600 Hours

A planemaker fond of comparing its planes to high-end luxury automobiles just brought those two seemingly disparate markets a little closer. Cirrus Design announced Tuesday the launch of Cirrus Maintenance, a new "standard with purchase" benefit designed to help reduce the cost of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

Similar in concept to free maintenance programs offered by such automakers as Audi, BMW and Lexus, Cirrus says this is the first time such a benefit has been offered in general aviation.

"We have looked long and hard at airplane ownership and we believe Cirrus Maintenance is the next step toward easing the customer experience and increasing customer utility," said Cirrus Chairman and co-founder Alan Klapmeier. "As a leader and innovator in general aviation, Cirrus felt the need to take this leap to get more people flying airplanes and ultimately, grow the industry."

Every Cirrus aircraft purchased directly from Cirrus in the US, Canada or an international authorized designee, is covered by Cirrus Maintenance. The full-service plan extends through 24 months or 600 flight hours, whichever comes first. Cirrus Maintenance covers new airplanes ordered and delivered since January 1, 2008.

The program covers factory-recommended maintenance... as well as additional items that need replacement due to normal wear and tear.

Cirrus Maintenance will allow the planemaker and its authorized service network to take the initiative on aircraft service. It is expected to positively impact aircraft reliability, safety and resale value by ensuring regular and quality service... all while minimizing customer cost and inconvenience.

"The Company has been working on Cirrus Maintenance for quite some time," said Cirrus President and COO Brent Wouters. "This is exciting for us as it is a fundamental change in the way Cirrus does business. Cirrus Maintenance is our most significant long-term commitment, operationally and financially, to making aircraft ownership easier."
