Source: One of the accusations levied against the Pratt & Whitney-engined Boeing 737-200 that went down on August 23, 2005, in a lawsuit filed by seven survivors of the TANS Peru airliner crash. The lawsuit claims Boeing and P&W were negligent negligent in reporting such a performance limitation to the airline, and that the jet's windshear warning system was defective. A wrongful death suit was also filed by a father who lost his six-month old baby and common-law wife on the flight -- claiming TANS failed to properly train its pilots to handle such an emergency.
