Aviation Research Firm Releases 2010 Aircraft Cost Evaluator

Conklin & de Decker Updates Ownership, Operating Costs

Conklin & de Decker has released the latest Aircraft Cost Evaluator for 2010, delivering what the firm calls the most up-to-date operating and ownership cost data available to the aviation industry. Aircraft Cost Evaluator is the most extensive operating cost database and is part of the family of aircraft operating and acquisition data products developed by Conklin & de Decker addressing more than 490 jets, turboprops, helicopters and piston aircraft.

The Aircraft Cost Evaluator (ACE) is the ideal benchmarking tool and assists aircraft owners, operators, brokers and dealers with important side-by-side operating cost and performance comparisons.  ACE helps users make critical decisions during these economic times on aircraft acquisitions whether they are downsizing to a smaller more economical asset or taking advantage of the market with a larger aircraft purchase or trade.  The most extensive operating cost database, ACE is referred to as the industry standard and is currently used by AMSTAT, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The Robb Report, and Business Jet Traveler.

The 2010 Aircraft Cost Evaluator release has added more aircraft, including the new Cessna Citation CJ4, Embraer Legacy 650, and the Gulfstream G250. This new version also includes preliminary data for the new Dornier Seastar and the PT6A converted King Air C90 and B200 turboprop aircraft by Blackhawk. New helicopter data in this ACE 2010 version covers the Sikorsky S76D. The Diamond DA 42NG with the new Austro Diesel engines is also included in this updated release. Targeted for update in this release were the Fixed Costs -- Hangar, Labor, Weather Services, Nav Services, Pilot Salaries, Training and Insurance, as well as, the latest aircraft acquisition prices. A new download tool is also available in the Members Only section of the Conklin and de Decker website.

With ACE, users can quickly compare up to three aircraft side-by-side, edit nearly two dozen variables, change currencies, and change measurement units to customize reports allowing users to compare their local costs and salaries.  A query function allows the user to narrow the selection to those that meet specific performance criteria. In addition, you can export your reports to Word, Excel and PDF with a click of a button.

"We have continued to expand and improve this product for more than 25 years and in today's market, it is more important than ever to track your operating costs," commented Bill de Decker, President of Conklin & de Decker. "This benchmarking tool gives owners and operators an easy and impartial way to compare their aircraft operating costs with the industry standard and can assist them with critical decisions on aircraft transactions," added de Decker.

The price for the latest edition of Aircraft Cost Evaluator is $650 for Jets, $550 for Turboprops or Helicopters and $450 for the Piston database.  Updated twice each year, the cost includes the original CD plus one free update.  Handbooks are available for an additional $100 each.  Discounts for multiple databases run from $100 to $300. Customized reports for individual aircraft can be special ordered for $75 per aircraft with a 20% discount for multiple aircraft. In addition, multiple user licenses are available.
