Includes Required Rate Of Descent Function
Every pilot knows how valuable an E6B is for flight planning and
en route calculations. Sporty’s has made this trusty pilot
tool even better with several new functions on its popular
electronic version.
In addition to its 20 aviation functions and 14 aviation
conversions, Sporty’s electronic E6B now has three new
functions:
- Required Rate of Descent function is an invaluable VNAV tool.
Enter current altitude and groundspeed, plus assigned or desired
crossing altitude and your distance to the crossing fix - the E6B
tells you your required rate of descent (in ft/min). You’ll
make that crossing restriction every time.
- Top of Descent function tells you how far out (in miles) to
begin your descent. Input your groundspeed and current altitude,
plus desired altitude and descent rate and you’ll know just
when to start a smooth descent.
- Specific Range function allows you to quickly find the most
fuel-efficient cruising altitude. You can easily compare between
two or three altitudes to determine whether the lower fuel burn at
a higher altitude is worth the increased headwind. This function is
especially useful for conserving fuel or extending range to avoid
an extra stop.
Sporty’s says its electronic E6B is the easiest to use of
any flight computer and comes with a five-year warranty. It
operates on three AAA batteries, comes with a soft-sided carrying
case, a pocket reference guide and instruction manual.
Sporty’s electronic E6B is authorized to use during FAA
knowledge exams.
Sporty’s electronic E6B [9834A] is available for
$64.95.
"More Than A Pilot Shop," Sporty's conducts flight training,
