Bristow Group Expands AW139 Helicopter Fleet

Four Additional Aircraft Ordered For Offshore Transport

Bristow Group has placed an order for four AW139 medium-twin helicopters to be used to perform offshore transport missions, AgustaWestland announced this week at Heli-Expo in Houston. The new helicopter will join three aircraft already delivered

Emilio Dalmasso, Senior Vice President Commercial Business Unit, AgustaWestland said "We are pleased to have signed this contract that further expands the AW139 fleet of one of the world's largest providers of helicopter services. This order confirms customer's reliance on the best selling medium- twin helicopter for offshore transport purposes and provides clear evidence the AW139 is proving a tremendous addition to maximize operational effectiveness".

Mark Duncan, Senior Vice President-Commercial, Bristow commented "Bristow has several commercial opportunities that either specify AW139 or that suit its superior performance capabilities. Our first AW139 is already on contract flying in the Gulf of Mexico."

Two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6C-67C engines with FADEC deliver a high power-to-weight ratio maximizing safety in demanding operational conditions. With its power reserve, the AW139 assures Category A (Class 1) performance from a helipad (elevated or at ground level) at maximum take-off weight with engine-out capability. The standard configuration provides seating for twelve or fifteen passengers. Energy-absorbing landing gear, fuselage and seats as well as high main and tail rotor ground clearance provide added safety for the passengers and maintenance teams while on the ground. AgustaWestland says over 120 customers from almost 50 countries have ordered almost 450 helicopters to perform a wide range of roles, including offshore transport, EMS/SAR, VIP/corporate transport, law enforcement, utility and government missions.
