Don't Dis Delta ... If You Work In Atlanta Anyway

Sportscaster Says He Was Fired For Anti-Airline Tweets

Sportscaster Chadd Scott says he was let go from radio station 680 The Fan in Atlanta because he Tweeted about a bad experience with Delta Airlines. Delta is a major sponsor at the station.

A blog in the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that Scott apparently complained about a delay on Delta via his Twitter page. He was traveling from St. Louis on Monday, where he appears on another radio station ... 790 The Zone. When a lack of de-icing fluid caused his flight to be delayed, he tweeted his displeasure about the situation. But the tweet that apparently got him in trouble directly referenced an endorsement deal between Delta and fellow 680 The Fan sportscaster Buck Belue. He suggested that Belue "reconsider" his endorsement deal following the St. Louis incident. He deleted the tweet as requested, but lost the gig anyway.

Station management did not confirm that the Tweets were why Scott was let go, only that they "wish him well." His number of Twitter followers has climbed since the firing, and he has continued to poke at the station, Delta, and the media in general. In one, he says "So if you are a radio station looking for someone w/ 10 yrs network & major market experience, or need some yard work done, I’m available."
