AIA Announces Board Appointments For 2019

Harris Corporation’s Chairman, President, And Chief Executive Officer William M. Brown Named Chairman Of AIA’s Board Of Governors For 2019

The Aerospace Industries Association has appointed Harris Corporation’s Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer William M. Brown as Chairman of AIA’s Board of Governors for 2019. Kelly Ortberg, Chief Executive Officer of Collins Aerospace, will serve as Vice Chairman. Eric Fanning has been reappointed as President and CEO and Ginette Colot has been reappointed as Secretary-Treasurer.

“AIA and its members are a dynamic force for America, connecting and inspiring people, driving our economy, and supporting our national security. With AIA celebrating its centennial in 2019, I am honored to serve as Chairman and join with Eric [Fanning] and the AIA team in advocating for the industry, celebrating our contributions, and sharing our vision for the future,” Brown said.

A hallmark of AIA is the direct involvement of CEO-level officers of the country’s major aerospace companies in driving the policy goals for the Association and industry as a whole. AIA is led by a Board of Governors that meets twice a year and an Executive Committee that meets more frequently.

AIA’s Chairman, Vice Chairman, CEO, and Secretary-Treasurer all serve on the Executive Committee. Additional members of the Executive Committee for 2019 are:

  • Edward L Auslander, President and Chief Executive Officer, LORD Corporation
  • Chip Blankenship, Chief Executive Officer, Arconic Defense
  • Gerard DeMuro, President and Chief Executive Officer, BAE Systems
  • Scott Donnelly, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Textron, Inc.
  • Eileen Drake, Chief Executive Officer and President, Aerojet Rocketdyne
  • Brad Feldmann, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Cubic Corporation
  • Tom Gentile, President and Chief Executive Officer, Spirit AeroSystems
  • Marillyn Hewson, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Lockheed Martin Corporation
  • Karl Hutter, President and Chief Executive Officer, Click Bond, Inc.
  • David Joyce, GE Vice Chairman; President and CEO, GE Aviation, General Electric Aviation
  • Thomas Kennedy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Raytheon Company
  • Roger Krone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Leidos Corporation
  • Christopher Kubasik, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President, L3 Technologies, Inc.
  • Tim Mahoney, President and Chief Executive Officer, Honeywell Aerospace
  • Dennis Muilenburg, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Boeing Company
  • Phebe Novakovic, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, General Dynamics Corporation
  • Mike Petters, President and Chief Executive Officer, Huntington Ingalls Industries
  • Rob Strain, President, Ball Aerospace
  • Kathy Warden, President and Chief Operating Officer, Northrop Grumman Corporation
  • Clare McGarrey, Vice President, InterConnect Wiring, Associate Member Representative

“Guided by Bill and Kelly, with an Executive Committee representing the breadth and depth of the industry and our supply chain, AIA will move into 2019 with strong leadership, an ambitious advocacy agenda, and creative new initiatives,” said Fanning. “We look forward to using our 100th anniversary to energize AIA’s advocacy and share our industry’s vision of the innovative and life-changing advancements to come.”
