An ANN visit to Velocity Aircraft this week was an eye opener... one of the few true survivors of the once-bustling sportplane kit  industry, Velocity’s decades of experience and a dedicated builder/owner community continue to show signs of strength... After increases in the rumor mill about important cancellations by critical companies in the helicopter industry (Sikorsky, Bell, Airbus, Robinson, etc...), HAI has made the decision that was expected... Heli-Expo 2021 will not happen. HAI Boss Jim Viola sents us a note explaining that, "HAI has made the difficult decision to cancel HAI HELI-EXPO 2021, scheduled for late March in New Orleans. They're Legal! Space Florida Licensed As Commercial Reentry Site Operator

The License Is Valid For Five Years

After completing an assessment of potential environmental impacts, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved Space Florida’s application for a commercial space Reentry Site Operator License (RSOL) at the Shuttle Landing Facility (SLF) in Titusville, Fla. The FAA determined that no significant environmental impacts would result from operations at the site. The license, which was issued after the company met all safety and risk requirements, is valid for five years. The Final Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) and the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) are posted on the project web page. The RSOL is posted here.

Marines with Air Delivery Platoon, Landing Support Company, 1st Transportation Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, recently coordinated a parachute operation at Drop Zone Basilone to refresh their Marines on low-level static line jumps and aerial resupply. 1st TSB invited other Pendleton units to participate in the training event, enabling Marines with 1st Marine Division and I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group with airborne and jump missions to gain proficiency and remain current with their jump training. Search For The Late Airplane Was Commenced The Following Day When The Pilot Did Not Report For Work

On December 20, 2020, about 2011 eastern standard time, a Cessna 210L, N2246S, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Midway, Georgia. The private pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.
