Media reports continue to predict the demise of the Stratolaunch Systems program shepherded by the late Paul Allen. That could mean that the massive Stratolaunch mothership, once destined to carry rockets into optimal positions and altitudes for launches may have made its first and last flight... much like Howard Hughes’ iconic Spruce Goose of decades past. The Stratolaunch aircraft was built to enable airline-style access to space that could have been convenient, affordable and routine.
