AirShares Elite Expands To Rhode Island

Plans June 21 Grand Opening

AirShares Elite New England -- part of the shared aircraft ownership program AirShares Elite -- told ANN this week it has expanded operations to the T.F. Green Airport (KPVD) in Providence, RI, giving pilots in southeastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and eastern Connecticut access to its fleet of state-of-the-art four-seat aircraft for business and personal travel.

AirShares Elite Providence, located at Horizon Aviation on the northwest ramp, will host its Grand Opening on June 21, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Area pilots will be able to learn the benefits of fractional ownership, and the public can explore the benefits of learning to fly.

For example, a pilot flying an AirShares Elite aircraft from Providence can get to a meeting in New York, the ski slopes in Vermont or the beaches in New Jersey in less than an hour. Cape Cod and the islands are a 20-minute hop. Aircraft available in the AirShares Elite program will be on display.

"The AirShares Elite program is a very attractive option for people whose flying needs don’t justify buying and owning an entire aircraft," said Brad Rosse, regional director for AirShares Elite. "Horizon Aviation is a great partner as it is Rhode Island’s largest flight training center with excellent customer service. With its proximity to Boston’s South Shore, Cape Cod, the islands, and the Rhode Island and Connecticut coasts, the Providence location will increase the ease of accessibility across all three states."

AirShares Elite operates a fleet of Cirrus SR22 four-seat, 200 mph/185 knot airplanes, featuring the unique Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) and the Avidyne Entegra integrated "glass cockpit" flight deck.

"AirShares Elite is a great way for pilots to experience the freedom and flexibility of private aviation," said Zeke Valtz, president of Horizon Aviation.

Horizon Aviation is Rhode Island’s largest full-service flight school with FAA Part 141 certification.
