Twenty-Fifth B777 Delivered To Qatar Airways

Carrier Considers The Model To Be Its "Flagship" Airliner

A 25th B777 has been delivered to Qatar Airways by Boeing in a ceremony held on April 1. The airplane is a 777-300ER (extended range) model, which can carry up to 335 passengers in a two-class configuration up to 7,930 nautical miles. Since placing its first 777 order in 2007, the world's fastest growing airline has expanded to include 25 of the three newer generation 777 models. Qatar Airways' fleet includes two long- range 777 freighters, 15 highly efficient 777-300ERs and eight of the ultra-long-range 777-200LR (longer range) airplanes.

"The 777 is delivering exceptional value to our airline," said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways. "The 777 is a tool for profitability, but also delivers the highest in customer satisfaction. Its service reliability and cabin architecture, coupled with our innovative interiors and world-class, award-winning in-flight service have made the 777 the airplane of choice for our passengers.

"Qatar Airways is one of the true five-star airlines in the world with an unparalleled fleet and outstanding service," said Marlin Dailey, vice president Sales and Marketing, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "Qatar Airways is one of only seven airlines with a Five Star ranking awarded by Skytrax. Boeing truly appreciates its business partnership with Qatar Airways and its commitment to the 777 family."

The airline currently operates 97 aircraft from Doha to 99 destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, North America, the Far East and Indian subcontinent. The 777 is the flagship of the world's most successful airlines. Its demonstrated long-range and large payload capabilities give operators access to the world's fastest growing passenger markets. It is consistently ranked at the top of operator and investor pools because of its revenue generating capabilities.
