Volga-Dnepr Airlines To Use e-Link Systems
Jeppesen and Volga-Dnepr Airlines, the world's largest
transporter of oversized and heavyweight air cargo, recently signed
a contract for Jeppesen's e-Link services.
Both e-Link Online and e-Link for Windows are ground-based
solutions that give airline personnel secure access to charts,
NOTAMs, and data electronically via the Internet, or via a locally
installed program, allowing them to shed much of the paper once
needed in the operations environment. Jeppesen will supply
information for more than 950 locations.
"We have now worked with Jeppesen for over 17 years using their
global navigation database, and we find the quality of their
products and services to be excellent," said Sergey Dyachkov,
general director, Volga-Dnepr Airlines. "This next stage is
intended to further develop prompt delivery of air navigation
information to Volga-Dnepr's away-from-base aircraft operating
flights in all of the world's regions."
"Our e-Link products are just some of the many digital solutions
Jeppesen now offers to help our customers operate more efficiently,
and free them of the constraints inherent with physical paper
media," said Thomas Wede, senior vice president and general
manager, Jeppesen Commercial and Military Aviation. "We are pleased
to help our long time customer, Volga-Dnepr, shift into digital
delivery technologies."
Volga-Dnepr is the largest operator of Antonov An-124 large
cargo aircraft. It also operates a fleet of Boeing 747-400
freighters, and has five 747-8 Freighters (shown above) on
order. Jeppesen is a Boeing subsidiary.
