Boeing Endorses Networking Event Connecting Aerospace Buyers,
Sellers
In what is being described as the first event of its kind in the
United States, manufacturers and suppliers from major global
aerospace and defense industries will come together in Seattle next
year to help create business opportunities and share information on
the industry growth trends.
The Aerospace & Defense Supplier Summit, hosted by BCI
Aerospace and supported by The Boeing Company and the Washington
State Department of Commerce, is scheduled for March 12-15 next
year at the Seattle Convention Center. Four Boeing business units
-- Commercial Airplanes; Defense, Space & Security;
Engineering, Operations & Technology; and Shared Services Group
-- will participate in the event.
"The aerospace industry is facing unprecedented demand and
opportunity in the coming years," said Stan Deal, vice president
and general manager of Supplier Management for Boeing Commercial
Airplanes. "The Aerospace & Defense Supplier Summit provides a
one-of-a-kind opportunity for suppliers to engage with major
suppliers of The Boeing Company, and make connections that can
expand their business and technology reach."
"We are very pleased to have this important international
supplier summit make its debut in Washington State," said Rogers
Weed, commerce director and chair of the Governor's Council on
Aerospace. "This is an ideal opportunity to showcase the hundreds
of outstanding local aerospace companies to important industry
partners from around the country and the world."
A total of 600 businesses and 1,200 individuals are expected to
participate, exchanging ideas and exploring potential business
opportunities. The first day of the event will include workshops
and key insights from industry leaders. The following two days will
be devoted to face-to-face meetings between companies with mutual
interests. Each of the 600 companies present will participate in an
average of 15, 30-minute meetings.
In addition to providing a forum for exchanging ideas and
developing future business opportunities, the Aerospace &
Defense Supplier Summit will be one of the world's largest
networking events.
