PAMA Aviation Maintenance Olympics: Let The Games Begin!

Mechanics And Avionics Technicians Prepare To Compete

The Great Lakes International Aviation Conference, announced today that the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) will hold their regional Aviation Maintenance Olympics at the Great Lakes Aviation Conference. The conference will be held January 20th thru 22nd in Lansing, Michigan.Aviation mechanics and avionics technicians will showcase their skills and professionalism in both individual and team competitions.

“The PAMA Aviation Maintenance Olympics are one of the highlights of the Great Lakes Aviation Conference which includes over 40 breakout sessions for AMTs, 80+ Exhibitors, and two days of IA Renewal training available on Friday and Saturday.

Top mechanics and technicians will compete in three events including: FARS AD and data research, hardware identification, and safety wiring. Judging is based on safety, accuracy, workmanship, speed, and professional appearance. Individuals will compete to qualify as the Great Lakes Tech-n-Athlete of the Year. Winners receive prizes from our Olympic sponsors and First place receives a trip to Las Vegas to compete in the National PAMA Olympics in March. This prize includes airfare, hotel, and entry fees to PAMA events at the AS3 (Aviation Suppliers Super Show).

The planning committee for the Great Lakes International Aviation Conference, in conjunction with some of the nation's preeminent maintenance organizations, has strived to offer the most comprehensive, instructional, interesting, and fun maintenance event of its kind. The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) has recognized the GLIAC as one of two PAMA sanctioned regional events.

Our IA Renewal Program is unlike any other. We offer eight hours of training on both Friday and Saturday of the conference. What is unique about the GLIAC is that we offer four or five different topics in each of the eight sessions. This allows you to choose the topics that interest you, and those that best suit your needs or desires.

Every IA, A&P, Director of Maintenance, Parts Manager, and Parts Purchaser should attend this event, even if an IA renewal is not necessary. In fact, a large segment of our attendees are those professionals who do not need to have their IA renewed, but want to learn the latest techniques and tips to solve the problems that they face day to day. Whether you are a maintenance technician running your own shop at a small airport, or part of a large maintenance department, you will find relevant topics at the GLIAC.
