History will be made
next month when Zero Gravity Corporation (ZERO-G) invites the
public to launch and land on a Weightless Flight from NASA's
Shuttle Landing Facility (SLF) at the Kennedy Space Center. On
November 5 and 6, 2006, ZERO-G has been given permission by NASA to
operate G-FORCE ONE, its specially modified Boeing 727 from
the same location the Space Shuttle uses to land at the Kennedy
Space Center. Details are available at www.gozerog.com by
calling (800) ZERO-G-800.
Although numerous astronauts and NASA personnel have used NASA's
Shuttle Landing facility, it has never been made available for
civilian use. Only 27 seats are available for this historic flight.
Seats are available on a first come first serve basis.
This once in a lifetime opportunity is available for $4,500 plus
tax and will include:
- Weightless Flight from NASA-Kennedy's Shuttle Landing Facility
with fifteen (15) Martian, Lunar and zero gravity parabolas
- Ground training in a VIP facility at NASA-KSC's Apollo/Saturn V
Center overlooking historic space artifacts
- Participation by three veteran NASA Astronauts who will share
their experiences and fly with you
- ZERO-G flight suit, log book, and weightless certification
- Personalized photographs and DVD/Video
- Post-flight "Regravitation" celebration
- Admission into the Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex
Dr. Peter H. Diamandis (shown below, flying in Zero-G), Chairman
and CEO of ZERO-G explained, "Our Flyers train just like astronauts
and live their dream of being weightless. More than 1,250 customers
in the last year have been able to fly with ZERO-G. These are our
first flight's out of NASA's Shuttle Landing Facility and we're
excited to be able to offer these seats to everyone who has dreamed
of spaceflight."
This pilot program is being sponsored by the Kennedy Space
Center, Center Operations Directorate, and is supported by NASA's
Office of Space Operations for the purpose of helping NASA
implement U.S. Space Transportation Policy and the President's
Management Agenda.
