Layoffs Reported At Falcon's Little Rock Facility

Industry Continues To Feel Repercussions Of Economy, Political Muck-Raking

Dassault Falcon announced today the layoff 111 workers from the Little Rock Completion Center. Another 42 workers have taken advantage of an “early out” program bringing the Center’s total workforce to 2100 employees, about the same as it was in early 2008.

“Each and every person affected by this layoff has been a valued member of our team and helped to contribute to our growth and success,” said John Rosanvallon, President and CEO of Dassault Falcon. “While we recognize the unfortunate impact this decision has on our employees and their families, we must face the reality of today’s market conditions and the significant challenges they pose to our industry.”

Dassault Falcon in Little Rock is the site of two strategic Falcon operations: the main Completion Center for all Falcon jets worldwide, and the company-owned Service Center, which is dedicated solely to Falcon customers. Current production model Falcons are manufactured in France, then flown in "green" condition to the Completion Center where optional avionics and custom interiors are installed, and exteriors are painted.

Expansion plans previously made for Little Rock may be in danger, for both Completions and Service Center areas. Construction plans 'set to continue into 2009,' were to expand Dassault Falcon - Little Rock to occupy nearly 827,000 total sq. ft.
