Get An Avanti II Panel For Your Avanti
At EBACE2006 Tuesday,
Rockwell Collins announced the company is offering Piaggio 180
operators an upgrade to LCD displays, as well the latest attitude
heading reference system (AHRS) with its Pro Line 21 IDS Integrated
Display System and AHS-3000 Attitude Heading Reference System
(AHRS) -- a system similar to the configuration offered in
Piaggio's upgraded Avanti II.
The upgrade will be available through an agreement with North
American Piaggio service center Jet Works in Denton, TX.
Certifications for both the Pro Line 21 IDS and the AHS-3000 are
expected to be complete by September, 2006.
"With this offering, Piaggio 180 operators can add value and
reliability to their aircraft with upgraded displays and content,
as well as the latest AHRS technology," said Denny Helgeson, vice
president and general manager, Business and Regional Systems for
Rockwell Collins. "We look forward to delivering these benefits to
Piaggio 180 owners through our relationship with Jet Works."
Pro Line 21 IDS offers an LCD display upgrade program to
existing flight decks without the full expense normally associated
with major retrofits by integrating next-generation liquid crystal
displays and graphics technology with existing sensors, radios,
flight management systems and autopilots. Additionally, adding
larger informative displays increases crew situational awareness
and aircraft value.
Rockwell Collins AHS-3000 features digital quartz
microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors that provide heading
and attitude information to the flight deck and other on board
systems. Its advanced construction includes no moving parts and
promised up to a 10,000-hour mean time between failure rating.
Rockwell Collins is a worldwide leader in the design,
production, and support of communication and aviation electronics
for commercial and government customers.
