Garmin has updated ANN
with news about some organizational changes within their aviation
sales and marketing team. These changes are effective immediately
and are designed to position Garmin's aviation sector for continued
expansion in all facets of the general aviation market.
"This is a very exciting time for Garmin. We have experienced
tremendous growth in the aviation market due to our wide-ranging
and innovative products and our commitment to customers," said Carl
Wolf, Garmin's senior director, aviation marketing and sales. "The
individuals appointed to these positions will offer the necessary
leadership to further expand Garmin's general aviation presence
while continuing to provide industry-leading customer support."
Roger Dykmann (pictured, above) has been promoted to the
position of director of aviation OEM sales, Americas. In this
position, Dykmann will oversee all aviation OEM sales team
activities. Dykmann joined Garmin in 2006 as an OEM sales
manager and was responsible for key accounts with several fixed
wing aircraft and rotorcraft manufacturers. Prior to joining
Garmin, he served at Honeywell where he held positions of
increasing responsibility within engineering and marketing.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
from Kansas State University and a Master's in Management from
Baker University. Dykmann will report directly to Wolf.
Jim Alpiser (pictured, above) has been promoted to the position
of director of aviation aftermarket sales, Americas. Alpiser
has been with Garmin for nearly a decade and is well versed in
Garmin's aftermarket and OEM aviation product lines and markets.
Prior to this promotion, he held positions in Garmin's consumer and
aviation sectors, including serving over 3 years as an aviation
regional sales manager and over 4 years as an aviation OEM sales
manager for Garmin's largest aviation customer. Alpiser
graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Administration. He is an instrument rated pilot
with over 1,100 flight hours. Alpiser will report directly to
Wolf.
Tim Casey (pictured, above) has accepted the newly created
position of sales manager of portables, light sport aircraft and
experimental aircraft markets. This position was created in
response to the expansion Garmin has experienced in the light sport
and experimental aircraft markets. Casey has been with Garmin for
over 16 years. His vast knowledge of the aviation market and
Garmin's product line will be invaluable as Garmin develops new
products and sales channels to expand these segments. Casey
has served on many Aircraft Electronic Association (AEA) committees
as well as AEA's Educational Foundation Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Garmin, Casey held senior positions at Northstar
Avionics. Casey will report directly to Alpiser.
Dave Brown (pictured, above) has accepted the position of sales
manager of integrated flight deck retrofit programs. In this newly
created position, Brown will focus on leading sales and marketing
for Garmin's King Air C90 and King Air 200 retrofit programs, as
well as future unannounced programs. Brown will work directly with
Garmin's authorized G1000 retrofit dealers to educate customers and
installation centers about the G1000 retrofit program. In addition,
he will coordinate G1000 retrofit activities with Garmin Europe and
Garmin Singapore. Brown has been with Garmin for over 13 years as a
regional sales manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in
Aviation Technology from Central Missouri State University and is a
multi-engine and instrument rated pilot with over 5,000 flight
hours. Brown will report directly to Alpiser.
