Aero-TV: AOPA '09 Conversations (Part 3) -- Why All The Bad News About GA?

AOPA Attendees Chat With Aero-TV About The Bad Rep GA Is Getting In The News

Opinions! We love them... especially when they come from folks with something interesting to say! Aero-TV engaged in one of its favorite exercises during the 2009 AOPA 'Summit' -- that of surveying a dozen or more people at an event with three questions targeted toward the interest group that we're shooting...

So, we came up with three good questions for the thousands of folks who populated this year's convention... starting with a popular topic at the onset, namely, "How Do You Like The New (AOPA) Prez?" The second question in this series deals with how the GA community is dealing with a tough economy while the third, and the topic of today's program, addresses the plight GA faces as the object of negative and misleading media reports viewers in the general press.

7,294 people attended the Summit in person at the Tampa Convention Center Nov. 5-7. Attendees checked out the latest in general aviation technology, and attended informational and educational forums, while hundreds of members of the Tampa community came out to Peter O. Knight Airport for the community day activities at Airportfest.

More than 1,000 aircraft flew into Peter O. Knight, Tampa Executive, and Tampa International Airports during Summit.

The airport grounds were packed for Community Day on Saturday, with hundreds of people from the area watching the steady stream of aircraft taking off, perusing 104 aircraft on display, and participating in activities designed for the whole family.
