ANN Welcomes Oshkosh 2009 Major Sponsor Aspen Avionics

Check Out Aspen Avionics Evolution Flight Displays At Hangar B, Booth 2126-2127, S-57

Aspen Avionics specializes in bringing the most advanced technology and capability from the commercial and business aviation markets into General Aviation (GA) cockpits. Its products increase situational awareness and reduce pilot workload, making it even easier and safer to fly in both VFR and IFR conditions. The company's philosophy is that getting the latest avionics technology shouldn't always mean spending a lot of money - on equipment or on installation.

Aspen's flagship product line is the Evolution Flight Display system, the most innovative - and affordable - glass cockpit system ever for certified GA aircraft. The Evolution system enables aircraft owners to upgrade their primary flight instrument "six pack" to glass cockpit technology all at once, or in stages. Easy and inexpensive software upgrades add new features and capabilities, while future-proofing the system and protecting owners' investments.

The Evolution Flight Display family was announced at EAA AirVenture in 2007. The FAA certification process for the EFD1000 PFD took approximately 18 months, and Technical Standard Order (TSO) Authorization was granted for the Evolution Pilot and Pro Primary Flight Displays (PFDs) in March 2008. In March 2008, with certification and production authority in hand, Aspen began shipping EFD1000 PFD systems to customers that had ordered their PFD months before certification. In January 2009 the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) granted E-TSO authorization of the Evolution Flight Display.

Liberty Aerospace was Aspen's first OEM contract for the Liberty XL-2 in April 2008. In November 2008 Aspen signed a contract with Diamond Aircraft, offering the EFD1000 PFD as standard equipment on the DA20 two-seat trainer.

From the beginning there has been high demand for the Evolution Flight Display and Aspen Avionics has been winning awards and accolades. AOPA featured the EFD1000 Pilot PFD in their sweepstakes plane in 2008. In May 2008 Aspen Avionics was awarded the Red Herring Top 100, a recognition given to the top 100 private technology startup companies in North America. Aero-News Network named the EFD1000 and Aero-Product of the Year for 2008. In February 2009 the Aspen Evolution PFD won the prestigious Flying Magazine Editor's Choice Award. In April 2009 the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) named Aspen Avionics its 2009 AEA Associate Member of the Year. Most recently Aspen Avionics was named a 2009 New Mexico Technology Flying 40 Company.

Led by industry veteran John Uczekaj, Aspen Avionics' team of top talent - with deep roots in aviation product development and certification - will continue to grow the company's business through pioneering solutions for the GA market. The Evolution Flight Display is the most affordable glass cockpit solution on the market today. And until July 31, 2009, Aspen has made it more affordable with the Grand Glass Rebate program, offering a $1000 rebate for all purchases of an EFD1000 Pro PFD.

The company raised its first round of venture capital in December 2005, and closed a Series B round in June 2007, facilitating its continued strong growth.
