AD NUMBER: 2007-24-15
SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2007-24-15 SUMMARY: We are adopting a
new airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above.
This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information
(MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to
identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.
The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as: One P180 aircraft
experienced a jamming of its longitudinal flight control cables.
Investigations revealed that its fuselage drain holes were plugged,
and water was trapped in the lower fuselage. As a consequence of
plugged drain holes, water can accumulate and freeze when the
aircraft reaches and holds altitudes where temperature is below the
freezing point. If not corrected this may cause the loss of control
of the airplane. We are issuing this AD to require actions to
correct the unsafe condition on these products.
