Ibis Aerospace Selects DeCrane for Ae270 Executive Seats

Southstar Aircraft Interiors Will Finish The Job

Ibis Aerospace has decided on DeCrane Aircraft Seating Company (DASC) to supply executive class seating for the Ae270 Spirit aircraft. Also, Ibis has selected Southstar Aircraft Interiors to supply interior completions for production aircraft.

DASC is a leading manufacturer of aircraft seating, offering a full range of seating platforms for business and special mission aircraft. The company was founded in 1979 under the name Erda Inc., and is now part of the DeCrane Systems Integration Group.

Southstar Aircraft Interiors is a full service interior completion and modification center located in south Texas. Components to be manufactured and installed in “green” Ae270 aircraft include headliners, window panels, sidewalls, bulkheads and storage compartments. The aircraft will be configured for executive operators. Southstar will utilize the finest available materials and finishes such as Ultraleather, leather, wood grain laminates and plated metal trim.

Jeff Conrad, Ibis Aerospace VP of Marketing, stated, “After considerable interaction with distributors and input from customers, Ibis has finalized the interior configuration of the Ae270 Spirit to represent quality, comfort and the best utilization of cabin space. DeCrane and Southstar will give Spirit operators state-of-the-art technology and safety features reflective of the demanding executive aircraft market.”
