Pierre Touboul Wins Marcel Dassault Prize

Awarded For Excellence In Aerospace Science

The tenth Marcel Dassault Académie des Sciences Prize awarded the research engineer Pierre Touboul, head of the ONERA Physical Measurements Department.

The prize is awarded annually for outstanding individual or team achievement, regardless of nationality, in aerospace science and technology.

Mr Pierre Touboul designed and carried through a new type of high-precision capacitive accelerometer, that today features as essential equipment on several international space missions.

On January 18th, during a ceremony held in Dassault’s head office in Paris, Mr Touboul received his prize from Serge DASSAULT alongside Edouard BREZIN, newly appointed chairman of the Académie des Sciences. The ceremony was attended by leading figures from the scientific community, official organizations and the aerospace industry.

The ceremony was followed by a conference by Stéphane Lemaire, engineer at Dassault Aviation, about acoustic modeling, an interesting theme for future collaborations between Dassault Aviation and ONERA, with application on Falcon noise reduction.
