The "Paravize, Head-on" is a
portable, self-contained, camera driven, collision avoidance device
intended to be placed on top of the glare-shield of a GA aircraft
to assist the pilot in spotting potentially dangerous traffic.
The "Head-on" utilizes three high-resolution cameras with a
high-speed processor to "see" traffic and possible threats
overlooked by the pilot. The cameras provide 120 degrees of
horizontal coverage and 10 degrees vertical coverage in the
direction of flight. When the "Head-on" detects a threat, an alert
buzzer augments the flashing 4,000-pixel LCD display, then images
displayed on the backlight screen direct the pilot where to look
precisely, within one degree up/down and left/right to take
corrective action. The portable unit has no connection to the
aircraft therefore no STC is required.
Company officials claim that the "Head-On" is very simple to
operate, just place the unit level on the glare-shield in cruise
flight. A full charge by the included 120VAC or 12/24VDC chargers
on the lithium polymer smart battery will operate the unit for 12+
hrs. The "Head-on" can be fully recharged in 6 hours from any state
of discharge. The unit has a USB jack and comes with a cable &
driver to enable free lifetime software upgrades through the
company's website. A 30-day money back guarantee is provided by the
company as well as a two-year product warranty.
"We expect the value-priced "Head-on" to rapidly become the
pilots choice for affordable collision avoidance assistance in the
cockpit," said Marketing Director Ken Godin. "Our product is not
only portable and self contained, it doesn't rely on radar service
or transponders to be effective".
