Air Canada, ACPA To Resume Negotiations

Ten-Day Period To Follow The Appointment Of An Arbitrator

Air Canada and the Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA) have agreed to re-commence negotiations. The parties have agreed to a 10-day negotiation period to begin following the appointment of an arbitrator by the Minister of Labour in accordance with the provisions of the Protecting Air Services Act. Air Canada and ACPA will ask that the arbitrator facilitate the negotiations process pursuant to section 31 of the Act that allows for negotiations to take place.

Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) The Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) is a general-purpose spectrograph that spans ultraviolet, visible, and near-infrared wavelengths. It was installed in February 1997 during the Second Servicing Mission. A spectrograph works by breaking up light from an object into its individual wavelengths so that its composition, temperature, motion, and other chemical and physical properties can be analyzed. STIS stopped functioning in 2004 due to a power supply failure, but astronauts replaced a low-voltage power supply board during Servicing Mission 4.
