European Union over foreign ownership of upstart

Temporary restrictions put in place by the FAA in 2004 to calm
the flood of traffic into Chicago's O'Hare International Airport
were made permanent this week, with the agency imposing limits on
the number of arrivals per hour at the busy airport.
Did the left hand know what the right hand was doing? That's the
question on the minds of many at the Oregon Department of Aviation
right now... as state auditors have found evidence the agency isn't
keeping track of contracts worth $1.2 million with outside
companies handling construction at state airports.
Today's the day for flight attendants awaiting word on whether
they can strike Northwest Airlines... as a federal court is
expected to rule Friday afternoon on an appeal by the airline that
disputes an earlier ruling, that stated the court doesn't have the
authority to block the strike.
The crew compartment belonging to the C-5 Galaxy aircraft that fell less than a mile short of the
runway at Dover Air Force Base April 3 has been
salvaged for use in C-5 aircraft crew training.
Police in Britain charged a 12th person Thursday in connection
with the thwarted conspiracy to blow up airliners bound for the
United States two weeks ago.
Critics Say That's One State-Owned Airline Too Many
Representatives with South African Airways said this week the
carrier is on track to launch a low-cost airline, over objections
from those who say the country doesn't really need a third
state-owned airline.
Flying around the pattern at locations around the country, it
apparent there's some confusion about "addressing" radio calls at
non-towered ("uncontrolled") airports. Radio addresses at these
airports come in three varieties: "Unicom", "Traffic" and
"Radio".
"I would bet my life on the fact that there were and
are contracts out there. There's no doubt in my mind that we had
them."

that oversees the Oregon Department of Aviation, on missing copies
of contracts the agency signed with outside contractors to perform
work at state airports in 2004-2005.
