AirMed Expands Into Asia

Provides Alternative To Traditional Health Plans

AirMed International says it has become the first company to sell air medical evacuation memberships in Asia. AirMed operates its own fleet of customized medical jet aircraft and serves members who are hospitalized while traveling.

Before the expansion into Asia, AirMed’s annual memberships were limited to North America. The company’s AirMed Global offering in Asia will widen the scope of its more than one million current members to include travelers from Hong Kong, Macau and the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

“Asia now has more travelers than ever before. With our base in Hong Kong as well as other strategic locations worldwide, AirMed will serve our new members in Asia with the same efficiency and unparalleled care that our current North American members enjoy,” said AirMed CEO Jeffrey Tolbert.

AirMed Global membership includes air medical transport when the member is hospitalized more than 300km from home. Members pay no out-of-pocket costs or co-pays; there are no financial limitations and no ‘medical necessity’ requirements. An AirMed membership brings patients to the hospital of their choice, not to the “nearest appropriate facility” as is the case of most travel insurance programs, health plans and premium card services.
