The Very Best In FlightSim Tech Gathers Next Week

World's Largest Exhibition Of Modeling, Simulation And Virtual Reality Starts 11/30

One of ANN's most interesting weeks comes each when the annual I/ITSEC Convention appears in Orlando, FL, toward the end of each calendar year. If you're a lover of serious, cost-effective new technologies, this is a hard event to forgo. The largest exhibition of modeling, simulation and virtual reality in the world is scheduled to open in Orlando on November 30. Featuring nearly 500 exhibitors from around the world and encompassing over 200,000 square feet of exhibition space, the event, called the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) points the way to the future for the entire M&S industry.

In addition tot he amazing technology devoted to flight simulation, dozens of other exhibitors will host numerous displays of medical simulation technology, including virtual ERs and emergency procedures, first response simulations, predictive simulations of disease spread, and remote surgical and other procedures. Developers of serious games can also be found throughout the exhibit floor, and a serious games competition is a favorite feature of I/ITSEC attendees.

Cross-cultural training will be prominent on the exhibit floor, using avatars, live training and immersive environments. In addition, a number of advanced special effects companies will demonstrate their technologies, including developers of the special effects in "Benjamin Button", "Letters from Iwo Jima", "Titanic", "Pirates of the Caribbean" and other Hollywood blockbusters.

New to I/ITSEC this year and not to be missed is the Innovation Showcase, where cutting edge companies and Government Agencies present the newest Innovations in Training and Simulation on the exhibit hall floor.

I/ITSEC is arguably the largest, most diverse and comprehensive modeling, simulation and virtual reality event of its kind. M&S professionals from the Government, Military, Industry and Academia can take advantage of I/ITSEC's knowledge sharing and networking opportunities at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando between November 30 and December 3 to experience the future of training, learning and entertainment.

I/ITSEC is produced by the National Training and Simulation Association, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.
