ATK To Host AAR-47 Missile Warning Systems Conference

System Protects Aircraft Against Surface-To-Air Missiles

Alliant Techsystems announced Tuesdat it will host an AAR-47 Users Conference January 21 and 22, 2009 at its Clearwater, FL facility. The purpose of this conference is to provide AN/AAR-47 international users with a forum for discussion of issues concerning the purchase, operation, maintenance and repair of the AN/AAR-47 Missile Warning System.

The conference is sponsored by the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Program Executive Officer, Tactical Aircraft Programs (PMA-272).

US Navy and ATK representatives will cover current and future system development and capabilities, information concerning program management, US government releaseability requirements, technical engineering, logistical support, support equipment, system training and direct commercial sales.

ATK's AAR-47 missile warning system is an electronic warfare system designed to protect helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft against surface to air missile threats. The AAR-47 missile warning system is installed on aircraft flown by the US and its allies in more than 16 countries worldwide. It has been credited with saving dozens of aircraft and their crews from hostile fire.

ATK is under contract to the US Navy and US Marine Corps to manufacture the AAR-47 electronic warfare system.
