Clears Way For Full Service FBO At Willow Run Airport
Active Aero Services has earned its 14 CFR, Part 145
Certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. This
certificate provides authority to perform aircraft, power plant and
limited avionics maintenance services to other companies and
individuals at its Willow Run Airport facilities near Detroit,
MI.
Active Aero Services' new service will offer maintenance and
repair services for over 200 different types of aircraft, both
piston and turbine powered. This makes Active Aero Services the
only Part 145 repair operation based at Willow Run Airport (YIP).
This capability enhances the Active Aero Services' Fixed Base
Operation (FBO), which also offers aircraft de-icing, refueling,
hangar rental, and related services.
"Our FBO customers are delighted with this full range of
capabilities," said Chris Healy, Chief Executive Officer of Active
Aero Services' parent company, Active Aero Group. "In the past, if
you required aircraft maintenance at Willow Run, you needed to
bring your mechanic to the airport. This was a very inconvenient,
inefficient, and costly undertaking. Now, Willow Run Airport has
the full service FBO that it truly deserves."
Obtaining this FAA 14 CFR, Part 145 Certificate is a serious
undertaking. Applicant firms are required to undergo rigorous FAA
review. Preparations prior to FAA inspection include technical
manual writing, extensive training, and forms completion.
"All of the credit for this hard work goes out to David Spahn,"
said Mike Reardon, Vice President of Technical Services for Active
Aero Services. "I am confident that David will continue to do a
great job managing our new Repair Station."
