First Bizjet-Focused FBO To Open At Burlala Mohammad Airport
Lagos-based Evergreen Apple Nigeria (EAN), the first fully integrated FBO, maintenance and hangar facility for business jets to open at Murtala Mohammed Airport, announced at EBACE 2013 that it has signed a representation agreement with Gulfstream Aerospace. Under the terms of the agreement, EAN will promote the sale of new and used Gulfstream aircraft within Nigeria.
As a Gulfstream representative, EAN will also be tasked with seeking and developing profile-raising opportunities for Gulfstream, will advise Gulfstream about prospects’ individual requirements and will provide feedback about Nigerian business aviation activity. EAN’s CEO/MD Segun Demuren will be managing the relationship and facilitating communication between Gulfstream, EAN and customers.
“We are extremely pleased to have been asked by Gulfstream to work with them in Nigeria and look forward to further developing Gulfstream business in the region. Large-cabin, long-range jets are very popular with Nigerian owners so I anticipate that we will be extremely busy. The signing of the agreement demonstrates Gulfstream’s commitment to its vision for expansion in Africa and we look forward to playing our part,” says Demuren.
Gulfstream currently has a fleet of 64 aircraft in Africa, with 13 regularly operating in Nigeria. “Evergreen Apple Nigeria has consistently been at the forefront of Nigerian Business Aviation development and has an impressive network that will add value to Gulfstream’s activity in the region,” commented Trevor Esling, Gulfstream, Regional Senior VP, International Sales, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The announcement follows hard on the heels of EAN’s hosting of Nigeria’s first business aviation conference, NBAC, which took place in early May. Gulfstream was a major sponsor of the event, and this announcement further strengthens the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in the rapidly growing Nigerian business aviation market.
