Upgraded: Ian Walsh

Bell Helicopter's Walsh Promoted to Textron Corporate

Bell Helicopter executive Ian Walsh has just been promoted to Director of Pricing Strategy for Textron Inc., Bell's parent company. In making the announcement, Textron Chief Operating Officer Steve Loranger said, "Ian will lead the Pricing Initiative, which will be responsible for designing, developing, and leading breakthrough pricing strategies throughout Textron."

Troubleshooter:

For the past four years, Mr. Walsh has been at Bell Helicopter, most recently serving as a Six Sigma Black Belt. A Black Belt's role is to eliminate defects in products, services, and processes by using a proven methodology and statistical tools.

Prior to entering Black Belt training, Mr. Walsh was the Director of Marketing for Bell's commercial business unit. In that capacity, he was responsible for customer advocacy, customer applications analysis, market segment management and business development. Previously he was manager of marketing and business development and e-commerce, during which he organized and led one of Bell's new marketing departments responsible for identifying and developing new customers and markets across the globe.

Mr. Walsh has masters degrees from both the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard as well as from the Harvard School of Business. He served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps from 1989-1996 in various capacities including pilot of an AH-1W SuperCobra attack helicopter and manager of the aircraft maintenance division of a Marine Special Operations unit.  He also led a logistics division as well as a safety and training standardization departments for the Marines.
