ATC students to take Intro to
Aviation home-study course on CD-ROM
Bluedrop Performance Learning has been awarded a contract to
develop an e-Learning course for Nav Canada students selected for
air traffic services. In order to increase the efficiency and
effectiveness of its training program, Nav Canada has contracted
with Bluedrop to develop an Introduction to Aviation e-learning
course.
Prior to attending classroom instruction at the Nav Canada
Training and Conferencing Centre (NCTI) in Cornwall, or the Nav
Canada Regional Training Units, students in the Air Traffic
Services programs will be required to study and assimilate a course
called Introduction to Aviation.
The self-taught course, to be
developed by Bluedrop with the assistance of Nav Canada, will be
provided to students on a CD-ROM. Students will then study from
their homes and will be required to pass a test on the course
content as a prerequisite to beginning classroom instruction in the
Regional Training Units, or at NCTI.
This new course, to begin in the winter of 2005, will save Nav
Canada 12 days of classroom instruction. This will translate into
important savings for the company over the long run. "By awarding
the contract for this training initiative to Bluedrop, Nav Canada
will be leveraging the expertise Bluedrop possesses in e-learning
and technology,” said Emad Riskalla, President of Bluedrop.
"This contract is a win-win for both companies and we are very
proud to be associated with Nav Canada, a world leader in Air
Navigation Service."
Bluedrop Performance Learning is a consulting and development
firm founded in 1992. The company focuses exclusively on helping
clients maximize their human capital through effective performance
learning, and has offices in St. John’s, Halifax, Ottawa,
Washington DC, and Los Angeles.
