Peter Bunce Takes Over Top Position With Extensive Aviation Experience

The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has selected Peter (“Pete”) J. Bunce its new President and CEO, starting on April 1, 2005.

Pete joins GAMA from the Pentagon where he was Director of the Air Force Congressional Budget and Appropriations Liaison working closely with staff and members of the House and Senate. He also spent five years as the Department of Defense representative to the International Council of Air Shows’ Board of Directors and Safety Committee. A career aviator, Pete served with the F-15 Squadron Command tasked with fielding and first operational use of Fighter Data Link. He also commanded a 2200+ personnel flying operation in Arizona, flying A-10’s and Specialized C-130’s.

“Pete is going to be an outstanding leader for our association and indeed the aviation industry,” said Jim Schuster, Chairman of GAMA’s Board of Directors. “A long-time pilot with international experience, Pete thoroughly understands airplane, airport, airspace and operational issues. He also brings a significant amount of congressional relations expertise that GAMA can immediately put to work on general aviation issues.”

Pete graduated from the Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Relations and holds a Master of Science degree in International Affairs from Troy State University. He attended Harvard University on an International Affairs Fellowship and holds commercial, multi-engine, and instrument ratings. Pete resides in Centreville (VA) with his wife Patty and daughters Megan and Ashley. His son, Justin, is a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.
