What To Do In Philly: With AOPA Expo 2003 barely two weeks away, it's time to start planning the details of your visit. And to help you do that, a complete list of seminars is now available online.

The seminars are grouped into six "tracks," including general aviation interest, all pilots, medical issues, ownership, proficient pilot, and air safety. Simply click on the seminar title that interests you to see a description and details. Opening Luncheon

Celebrating Our Past With a Tribute to the First Powered Flight!

  • Thursday, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • (Food service ends at 1:00 p.m.)

Darrell Collins, National Park Service Historian, recounts the first flight with Orville and Wilbur Wright. A well-known historian with in-depth knowledge of the birth of powered flight, Darrell will travel back to that cold windy morning in December of 1903. Joining Darrell will be a couple of surprise guests that you won't want to miss! AOPA will also recognize TV, print and radio journalists who meet the highest standards of fair, accurate, and insightful coverage of general aviation.

Welcome Reception

Connect with Friends — Old and New

  • Thursday, 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

A once-a-year chance to renew friendships, meet new aviators, and share great stories over beverages and hors d'oeuvres.

AOPA Friday Night Halloween Party

  • Friday, 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Arrive in costume for Friday night's ghoulish, fun, and festive Halloween Party! Attendees will be treated to lots of great Halloween tricks performed by jugglers, magicians, palm readers, and stilt-walkers too! Feast on a fabulously catered dinner with complimentary beer and wine. Then enjoy musical favorites as you dance the night away. There's no better way to spend Halloween night this year than dressing up in your favorite costume and visiting with friends, old and new.

Grand Finale Banquet

Exclusive Closing Banquet Performance!

  • Saturday, 7:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

This year's Closing Banquet includes a fabulous dinner and a special performance by Incredible Productions, the Dallas-based entertainers famous for their witty musical looks at current events. With original material developed just for AOPA, Incredible Productions will treat us to a fresh, funny, and upbeat look at aviation — and a wonderful evening of laughter and song. AOPA will also honor this year's recipients of AOPA's two top awards for service to general aviation. We'll recognize the government official who did more than any other this year to advance the fair treatment of general aviation and the individual who did the most to defend and preserve general aviation for us and the pilots to follow.
