American Airlines Pilot Arrested In London

Suspected Of Being Intoxicated Prior To Flight

An American Airlines Pilot was arrested late last week at Manchester Airport in London after police received reports that he may have been under the influence of alcohol prior to a flight. The pilot, who was not named, was arrested on suspicion of performing an aviation function while having a blood/alcohol level that was over the prescribed limit.

The pilot, who has not been named, has been released on bail, according to a report from CBS news.

The incident was confirmed by the airline, which said in a statement that the flight to Philadelphia was cancelled, and the passengers were rebooked on other flights.

American Airlines says it is "fully cooperating with local law enforcement" concerning the incident.
