Ouch! Vintage Aircraft Involved In Drunk Driving Accident

Sadly, You Read That Right...

Police in Juneau, AK are investigating a suspected case of drunk driving that, fortunately, didn't result in any injuries -- except, that is, to a vintage Cessna parked at Juneau International Airport (PAJN).

The Associated Press reports the 1946 Cessna 120 floatplane (file photo of type, above)was parked on the ramp at the airport when 27-year-old Stanley Johnson lost control of his pickup, left the road and sped down a shallow hill. The truck then plowed through an airport fence -- and through the Cessna.

Sadly, the Cessna is a total loss -- with damage estimated in the $40,000 range.

Johnson was arrested at the scene Sunday morning, and charged with DUI. No word, yet, on possible charges... although may we suggest an intensive community service program, focusing on lav duty?
