Fuel Supplier Moves Into Flight Planning Arena

Avfuel Unveils Avplan, An In-House Flight Planning Company

Avfuel Corporation is set to offer a dedicated flight and trip-planning subsidiary called Avplan. The company acquired Pacific Coast Forecasting (PCF) of Van Nuys, CA, in the first quarter of 2010 to enhance the trip-planning and ground-handling arrangements that have been its core business.

Adding the option of in-house, professional trip planning will streamline and enhance Avfuel’s service matrix, allowing for quality control. Avplan Trip Support provides flight briefing, weather analysis and comprehensive flight support for international and domestic flight departments, and provides competitive fuel rates at over 2,000 locations worldwide.

The company says Avplan is designed several proprietary software planning tools that keep pilots more informed and therefore safer during each leg of flight. It also includes an integrated customer information system (ACIS –Avplan Customer Information System) to support speed, accuracy, security and intricate details of trip planning, flight briefings and more. With the new system, planners have instant access to aircraft and trip data for optimal service to pilots and passengers, ensuring that each trip goes more smoothly. The say changes can be made with speed and accuracy, and built-in are backup and redundancy checks.

“The newly developed Avplan software systems allow Avfuel to organize and access information with unprecedented ease in order to support our flight department customers. It’s an incredible resource at our fingertips,” said Avfuel Director of Flight Support Mike Wittman. “Avplan not only provides efficient and personalized international and domestic trip planning but wherever you are going, Avplan has the resources and the Avfuel backing to make your entire trip faster, safer and easier.”
